BRITISH PALAWAN TRUST IMPORTANT NOTICE

It is with deep regret that I must announce that the British Palawan Trust will close down at the end of March 2023.  I have run the charity since 1990 and it has been a pleasure and an honour.  The problem is that I am not getting any younger and we have failed to find a younger person to take over.

The plan is to send all our reserves to Bahatala which is the clinic in Puerto Princesa.  The work of the clinic will continue for a long time we hope, under the leadership of Mrs. Cecile Socrates.  As you know the clinic provides rehabilitation to a wide range of people with a variety of conditions.  The clinic is the only one treating Club Foot using the Ponseti method.  The Workshop is the only supplier of artificial limbs and braces as well as aids to persons with disability.

I apologise that we have been unable to find a simple way for you to donate to Bahatala and benefit from Gift Aid.  I will keep the BPT bank accounts open for a month or two in case of late donations, although they will not qualify for Gift Aid.  Those who wish to continue supporting the work of Bahatala can transfer money directly.
